Five youngsters knocking on the door for India Test Selection

By Rajsi Swaroop

India are on its England tour after four years since 2014, but they are looking the same. India has lost two matches from the Test series one at Edgbaston and second at the home of cricket Lord’s. Indian Test Selection panel is in a serious discussion about the team’s performances, and it is getting worse than ever. It looks like skipper Virat Kohli is the wheel of the team and he is dragging the weight of the performance on his shoulder only. Every other player is looking off-colour which is affecting the result. It is expected that the panel will be focusing on the new scalp of the talent that can fit in the shoes of the current squad and get better results. So, on the behest of the cricketing pundits here are the five players who should get the immediate call from the national selectors for the remaining Tests or the future tour.

1. Prithvi Shaw

The under 19 winning captain Prithvi Shaw and his technique is what missing in our current Test Squad, and this is what India should consider in future. Prithvi is a perfect combination of a cricketer he can change his track and calculate well according to the pace of the game. He can hit the ball over the top and defend the very next one as followed by his performance against South Africa A where he scored a classy ton.

2. Mayank Agarwal

Mayank is another contender, and he is the opening partner of Prithvi Shaw for India A. Indian batting great Rahul Dravid said, Mayank is a bit mature, and he deserves the place on higher level cricket. Mayank scored a double century against South Africa A at M.Chinnaswamy, Bengaluru.

3. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer is also a teammate of Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal who will be considered to join the Test team. He has been consistent in bulling the bowlers through the bat. He was highlighted in the cricketing galaxy when Delhi Daredevils signed him for a whopping amount of INR 2.6 crore, and he ended up 2015-16 season at an aggregate of 439 runs in 14 matches. Iyer proved his mettle that he is here for a long haul by scoring 1321 runs at an average of 73.38 in Ranji Trophy for Mumbai and led the team to their 41st Ranji Trophy final.

4. Navdeep Saini

Right-arm medium Navdeep Saini is eligible to get the ticket to the Test squad because Indian bowling line up and their performance in England is like chalk and cheese. We can see the more prominent names but, the lesser impact in 22 yards. Navdeep can get the immediate call from the selectors to enter into the most competitive level.

5. Rajneesh Gurbani

A Civil engineer by qualification, Rajneesh Gurbani is a right-arm-medium and is considered as the younger Bhuvneshwar Kumar.  Indian team is right now missing Bhuvi badly because of his skills in bowling at English conditions and at the same time battling with the bat. Rajneesh can be a filler of the void space until Bhuvneshwar is injured.
