Harbhajan Singh isn’t happy with Virat’s this decision

“38 changes in 38 Tests is too much,” says Bhajji

Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh said that he felt that it was a bit too much to make 38 changes in 38 Tests but it doesn’t matter much as long as Virat Kohli-led India keeps getting success.

India fielded their 38th changed playing combination in their 38th Test match at Trent Bridge against England where India registered a thumping win against the hosts to keep the Test series alive.

“I believe 38 changes in 38 Tests is too much. But every skipper is different and it depends how it works it for them. Maybe they want horses for courses and fortunately, it works for them,” Harbhajan Singh.

“They missed the series win in South Africa by a narrow margin and now they have turned things around in England. If the captain, management and players accept it, then what others think is not that important,” he added.

Talking about Kohli’s brilliant form in England, Bhajji said Kohli’s preparation before embarking on the UK tour has made a difference for him.

The India captain had practised with a member of Indian support staff in Mumbai where he took throw downs on wet surfaces for replicating English conditions.

Kohli worked really hard before going to England: Bhajji

He hailed Kohli’s performance and his leadership and said, “When you practice in such conditions, take throw downs from 18 yards or so with new ball which is wet, you get used to the movement and the pace.”

“Kohli is not affected by pace or the movement of the ball. He bats out of the crease, he covers the stumps and plays late, so he has worked really hard for succeeding in English conditions,” he said.

Harbhajan also said that England’s batting line-up is a bigger loophole than that of India.

“They are playing as if they are playing in India. Their batsmen have struggled against spin and pace and they look more vulnerable than India at the moment.”
