Highest opening partnership in IPL: For the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the opening pair of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway have looked in a terrific touch taking the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for cleaners all over the park in the today Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The CSK team management surprised everyone when they decided to demote Robin Uthappa and open the batting with the combo of Gaikwad and Conway for their 9th match of the season.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the Chennai Super Kings got off to a sensational start as the duo of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway blasted a total of 85 runs in the first 10 overs. The CSK openers registered the fourth highest opening partnership in the history of the Indian Premier League as Conway and Ruturaj composed a remarkable partnership of 182 runs in 17.5 overs. This is also the best opening partnership for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL going past Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson’s unbeaten stand of 181 runs.
While playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the pair of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow still hold the all-time record for the best opening partnership in the IPL history as the duo smacked the RCB bowlers for an amazing stand of 185 runs in 2019.

Ruturaj played an outstanding innings of 99 runs off 57 balls that included 6 sixes and as many fours while his opening partner, Devon Conway remained unbeaten till the end with a blistering knock of 85 runs off 55 deliveries that consisted of 8 fours and 4 sixes.
