IND vs ENG India vs England 4th Test match score live

IND vs ENG: It has been quite evident that despite winning the first Test match in a dominating fashion and taking a vital 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series, the visiting England team have found themselves behind the eight-ball. England have lost two Test matches against India inside six days and their batters have struggled to counter the Indian spinners in the last two games. And something similar came to haunt the England top-order in the ongoing India vs England fourth and final Test match at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

IND vs ENG: Rishabh Pant’s sledge works as Crawley throws his wicket away

After winning a vital toss and opting to bat first on a pretty good surface, England got off to a poor start as opening batsman Dominic Sibley once again got dismissed to the straighter delivery by Axar Patel. After Sibley’s dismissal, his opening partner Zak Crawley, who scored the only fifty for England in the last pink ball Test match, also looked pretty much tentative as he was using his feet almost on every ball. Incidentally, after the 4th ball of the 8th over, Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant was clearly heard chirping behind the stumps.

Pant was heard saying that Crawley was getting angry and on the very next delivery, the England opener absolutely threw his wicket away. After Pant’s chirping, Crawley advanced down the track and failed to middle the delivery by Axar and gifted a simple catch to Mohammed Siraj standing at mid-off region.

India grab the upper hand after England’s another top-order collapse

Losing a total of three wickets in the opening session on Day 1 of the fourth Test, England have surely given away a major part of their advantage of winning a crucial toss. After the dismissal of both the openers, England captain Joe Root also fell prey to an in-swinging delivery from Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj. Since getting reduced to 30 for 3, the pair of Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes have steadied the things for the visitors as they went into lunch with their scorecard reading 74/3.
