The deab-rubber third ODI between India and New Zealand is currently taking place at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The hosts have sealed the series by producing two magnificent performances and if they manage a win in the third game, they’ll attain the No.1 spot in ICC ODI rankings.

Why is Rajat Patidar Not Playing Today’s India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI

India and New Zealand will be playing third game at Holkar Stadium in Indore. Black Caps captain Tom Latham won the toss and asked India to bat first, in a ground which is considered as batting paradise. The hosts made two changes to their team, bringing in Umran Malik and Yuzvendra Chahal in place of Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj.

With series already being in bag, it was expected that they would give Rajat Patidar a chance. But that didn’t happen as they continued the same batting lineup. Ahead of the match coach Rahul Dravid said that if any player got injured then the batter could get the debut cap.

But with all being fit, he failed to make cut into the Indian XI. Patidar, notably has been in a staggering form in domestic circuit as he been smashing runs consistently and was added to the Indian squad ahead of the first ODI as Shreyas Iyer’s replacement.

With batter not getting the opportunity, fans were disappointed with him not getting the chance and gave some reactions. Here are some of them:
