Jasprit Bumrah IND vs SA: In a crucial update, India’s premier pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is not playing the first T20I game against South Africa set to be hosted at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The Indian team will be feeling very much high on confidence as they are coming into this game on the back of a sensational 2-1 series victory over Australia at home even after losing the opening match of the three-match series.
After winning yet another toss and opting to field first, Indian captain Rohit Sharma revealed the big news that Jasprit Bumrah misses out for this first T20I game against Australia. Rohit also mentioned that their premier speedster who recently returned from a long injury lay-off, sustained a niggle in the morning and thus, he was unavailable for selection. Bumrah ended up conceding a total of 50 runs in his quota of four overs during the third and final T20I against Australia in Hyderabad. In his absence, India have brought in right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar in the playing XI.
“We are gonna bowl first. It was a good wicket when we played here last time. Bit of green covering but it’s gonna be a good batting track. Very critical to continue to do what you’re doing and keep that momentum in this format. Very healthy atmosphere in the group and we also want to make sure to tick all the boxes and so far we have been doing good and we just want to continue to do that. Hardik and Bhuvi are rested from the last series. Pant and Arshdeep come in for them. Bumrah and Chahal miss out,” said Indian captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.
