SL Playing 11: The second and final Test match between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Bengaluru from March 12. Led by Dimuth Karunaratne, Sri Lanka suffered a massive 222 runs and an innings defeat in the first test at Mohali and need to win the Bengaluru test to avoid the series defeat as well as complete tour whitewash. The visitors earlier suffered a 3-0 clean sweep in the T20 series and will be aiming to end the tour on a high.
It was a one-sided affair in Mohali as India turned out to be too good for the visitors and finished the test in just three days. The defeat also saw Sri Lanka slip down to the third spot in the WTC points table, with a PCT of 66.66 – two wins and a defeat. Interestingly, Sri Lanka has never won a Test match in India in the past and it has to be seen if they manage to break the jinx when both teams meet at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Sri Lanka skipper Dimuth Karunaratne has scored 55, 48, 230, 184 244 runs respectively in his last 5 Tests. He failed to score big in Mohali Test but is an ideal pick for captain/vice-captain from the Sri Lankan side. He slammed 4 centuries and 3 half-centuries in 7 test matches played last year and is expected to come good at Bengaluru.

Pathum Nissanka scored a half-century in the 1st innings of the Mohali Test and is the top run-scorer for Sri Lanka so far. He was in good touch with the bat in the white-ball series also and finished as the second most run-scorer for the visitors.
