India vs Sri Lanka Schedule: In a massive news development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for their upcoming home series against Sri Lanka comprising of three T20Is and 2 Test matches. After the conclusion of the three-match T20I series, Team India is scheduled to host Sri Lanka for three T20I games and a two-match Test series starting with the first T20I match on 24 February, 2022.

After a request from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, the BCCI has now decided to play the T20I matches first as the earlier schedule had the Test matches. The first T20I match between India and Sri Lanka is scheduled to take place in Lucknow on 24 February (Thursday). The second and third T20I games will be played on 26 and 27 February respectively in Dharamsala.

The two-match Test series will kickstart with the opening match scheduled to begin from 4 March in Mohali. Sri Lanka’s short tour to India will end with the second and final Test match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru starting from 12 March. This second game will be a day-night Test match and also the first pink ball fixture in Bengaluru.

This also means that former India captain Virat Kohli will play his iconic 100th Test at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali scheduled to start from 4 March. Earlier the Sri Lanka Cricket Board had requested the BCCI to play the T20I series first against India in order to solve the necessary bio-bubble issues as the visitors are also currently playing a five-match T20I series in Australia.
