A month back, with many covid cases being active in the country, it was assumed that the Indian Premier League 2022 will take place outside of India. But as the IPL organizing committee is ready to float the schedule, the cases  have dipped and the BCCI has already decided on the venues of this season as well. Sourav Ganguly confirms Venues for IPL 2022 Season

The BCCI President has been quite active in his involvement to schedule the tournaments in the best way possible. The IPL 2021 Phase 2 was successfully organized by the cooperation between BCCI and United Arab Emirates as well. There has been latest statement by Sourav Ganguly on the IPL 2022 venues.

“It (IPL 2022) will be held in India this year, until and unless the COVID-19 hits the roof. So far, it has been decided that the IPL will be played in India. As far as venues are concerned, we are looking at hosting the matches in Maharashtra – Mumbai and Pune. We will then take a call on the venue for the knockout stages,” Ganguly said.

The second highest wicket taker with 24 dismissals in the Indian Premier League 2021 season can be one of the most expensive buys in the 2022 Auction. With a fine proficiency to pick wickets with the new ball and proven performances in the death overs, Avesh Khan can be first preference of franchises in their fast bowline line up.
