IPL Schedule 2021 PDF : In a massive recent development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the official schedule for IPL 2021. In 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament opener, the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will be facing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 9. After nearly two years, India’s blockbuster cricketing carnival will be returning home with Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi as the hosting venues for IPL 2021.
The forthcoming edition of the IPL will witness a total of 11 double-headers where 6 teams will play three afternoon matches and two teams will play two afternoon matches since the IPL 2021 start date. In order to ensure no team gets the home advantage, the BCCI has decided that all eight teams will play only on 4 venues out of the six listed, barring their home ground. The latest innovative format will also reduce the risk of the vast spread COVID-19 as the teams will be required to travel only three times during the league stage.
A total of 56 matches during the league stage of IPL 2021 out of which Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru will get to host a total of 10 games each while Ahmedabad and Delhi will host 8 games each. The playoffs and the final of the cricketing extravaganza scheduled on May 30 will be hosted at the newly-built magnificent Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, there is sad news for the fans as VIVO IPL 2021 at home will be played behind closed doors to begin with and a call on allowing spectators will be taken at a later stage of the tournament.

After the recent happenings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) where the event had to be postponed indefinitely due to some COVID-19 cases and breach of protocols, the BCCI is confident of hosting the upcoming season at home with health and safety of players and all people involved being paramount. The BCCI has listed the entire along with the IPL 2021 PDF on the IPL Website.
