Irfan and Yusuf serving the community: The COVID-19 pandemic has indeed been a difficult time for everyone within the nation. Lakhs of cases have been reported positive, and quite a few have lost their loved ones as well. However, in spite of such dark times, there have been popular celebrities who are lending a hand and making a difference in the community.
This time it’s former cricketers Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan who have stepped in and are chipping in with significant manner. Irfan Pathan, particularly has decided to donate all the money earned from social media campaigns for charity. Irfan and Yusuf also are donating food and other necessary raw materials that have helped close to 90,000 families up until now. Other than that, the Pathan Cricket Academy is providing free meals to COVID-affected people in Delhi.
To top it all, Mehmood Khan Pathan, their father, has also been providing food to the patients in Vadodara. The Pathan family played a vital role in terms of serving those affected by the pandemic last year as well. They distributed close to 4000 masks in Vadodara, while also donating food to those in need. Vitamin C tablets were also given by them, but this time to the Vadodara Police, to assist their immunity levels and as a show of gratitude for their endless efforts during the lockdown.
Irfan Pathan had announced his retirement from all forms of the game last year, while, his elder brother Yusuf Pathan retired earlier this year. However, the duo were seen participating in the Road Safety Series, and played a pivotal role for the India Legends as they ended up winning the tournament by beating the Sri Lanka Legends in the finals. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Kaif, and Yuvraj Singh was also members of the India Legends team.
