MI Playing 11: After losing the opening game of IPL 2021, defending champions Mumbai Indians will be up against Kolkata Knight Riders here at Chennai. The 5-time champions Mumbai will be looking to get back to winning ways after yet another slow start to their campaign. MI and KKR have played against each other 27 times in which MI have won 21 times as compared to KKR’s 6. It clearly becomes evident how dominant Mumbai has been over Kolkata over the seasons. Last year too, Mumbai got the better of Knight Riders in both the fixtures. Mumbai will be looking to continue the tradition and get some points.

Quinton de Kock has become available after finishing his quarantine and is likely to get the nod ahead of Chris Lynn. Rest of the Mumbai eleven is expected to be the same. Here is how their eleven could be shaped up for this match:

MI Playing 11 (likely)

R Sharma (C)
Q de Kock (wk)
S Yadav
I Kishan
H Pandya
K Pollard
K Pandya
M Jansen
R Chahar
T Boult
J Bumrah

With de Kock returning to the mix, Mumbai have one of the best opening pairs of the tournament. It is likely Hardik Pandya won’t be available to bowl and Mumbai will use Pollard as the sixth bowling option.
