Rahul Tewatia Catch: Punjab Kings were asked to bat first by Rajasthan Royals new captain Sanju Samson, and the decision backfired as soon as RR came to bowl. Despite Mayan Aggarwal departing in the third over, runs kept flowing with KL Rahul, Chris Gayle and then Deepak Hooda showing no mercy. However, RR were at fault for PBKS’ mammoth total. They dropped too many catches and bowled some no-balls as well at crucial moments.
It was the last over of the first inning of the match between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. KL Rahul seemed destined to clock his 3rd IPL century. After hitting the four on the first ball of the last over, Rahul then flicked the ball towards the leg side and the shot seemed to be crossing the boundary for a six.
But Rahul Tewatia was on the boundary, caught the ball, tossed it over and then dived in to complete a move that was more Ab de Villiers like. Watch the video:
Shahrukh Khan, Riley Meredith and Jhye Richardson made their debut for Punjab Kings against Rajasthan Royals, while the 2008 IPL winner handed out caps to Mustafizur Rahman, Chris Morris, Chetan Sakaria and Shivam Dube.
Bangladeshi left-arm bowler Mustafizur Rahman had to debut to forget as he was taken for 45 runs off his four overs, but Sakaria will remember his debut as he ended with figures of 3-31 in his four overs.
For Punjab Shahrukh Khan didn’t have a whole lot to do. He remained unbeaten on six runs off four balls.
