LEI vs IND: In an important news development, Team India have announced their squad for the upcoming four-day practice Test match against the Leicestershire County team scheduled to start from 23 June, 2022 at the Grace Road in Leicester. From the preparations point of view, India will have a lot to gain from this only warm-up match ahead of the fifth and final rescheduled Test match against England and it will be really important for the visitors to acclimatize well in the English conditions.
The Leicestershire County have announced that four players from the Indian squad have agreed to join their side for the one-off warm-up match starting from Thursday. This means that the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna will be playing for Leicestershire against India in the practice Test match. The duo of Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Simarjeet Singh have been named in the India squad as it will be a 13 players per side practice match. For India, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will be unavailable as he is yet to reach England after having tested positive for COVID-19.
