Jasprit Bumrah most runs in an over: In the ongoing fifth and final rescheduled Test match against England at the Edgbaston in Birmingham, right-arm speedster Jasprit Bumrah is captaining the Indian Test side for the first time in his international career. For the first time since a total of 35 years and after the legendary Kapil Dev, India is being led by a fast bowler in Test cricket history.
After a remarkable performance from the duo of Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja to revive the India innings, captain Jasprit Bumrah looked in a really entertaining mood this time with the bat. England’s senior bowler Stuart Broad kept bowling short deliveries and Bumrah smashed a total of 35 runs in a single over to record his name in the history books of Test cricket. The Indian captain has now hit the most number of runs in a single over of Test cricket as he went past Brian Lara’s all-time record of 28 runs.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first under overcast conditions, India had a good start but for a short period of time as both the openers, Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara failed to convert their starts. The trio of Virat Kohli, Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer also got out early as India crumbled to 98 for 5. However, the pair of Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja then got together and bailed their team out of trouble with a staggering partnership of 232 runs.
Both Pant and Jadeja smashed sensational hundreds each while Bumrah remained unbeaten for an amazing cameo of 31 runs off only 16 balls as India posted a mammoth total of 416 runs in 84.5 overs. For England, veteran pacer James Anderson picked up a brilliant five-wicket haul.
