Most Runs in IPL since 2020: Devdutt Paddikal completes 1000 runs in Indian Premier League


The last two years in the IPL has been a bit tricky for the free flowing batsmen because the wickets were not conducive to batting. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, BCCI had to shift the IPL to UAE where the wickets were low and slow and hence batters couldn’t score freely. Lets take a look at the batsmen who have scored heavily even in tricky surfaces since 2020 in IPL.

Devdutt Padikkal joins the 1000 run club

The southpaw from Karnataka is regarded as the next big thing in the Indian cricket. He has natural stroke making ability, although has his fare share of flaws in the game, he has managed to muster runs consistently in the most toughest league in IPL. He represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in his first two seasons in IPL and was released by his home franchise ahead of the IPL 2022.

Most Sixes in IPL

He was picked by Rajasthan Royals in the mega auction for a whopping 7.75 crore rupees. Though he has been a disappointment in this season so far where he has been attacked with short pitch stuff which is his weakness, he completed 1000 run mark in the IPL in this season. He is now the sixth highest run getter in IPL since 2020 which is a massive achievement to say the least. The list also has the extremely talented Shubman Gill at the fourth position.
