NZ vs AUS 1st T20I Preview The T20 season has begun with PSL starting from February 20 and the New Zealand Australia series will begin from February 22. The Australia team has toured New Zealand for five T20Is. It will serve as a good breeding ground for the players participating in the IPL and T20 World Cup. In the last T20I series against India, the Australia team lost by 2-1. The team’s top-performers were Matthew Wade and Mitchell Swepson who scored most runs and scalped most wickets respectively. The New Zealand side won their last two T20I series against Pakistan and West Indies. The top-performers were Seifert and Philips in the batting department, while Southee and Jamieson were the top wicket takers. The home team will sport their retro beige jersey in the entire T20I series.

Australia: The team will welcome the players who performed well in the BBL 2020/21 into the squad. The players like Jhye Richardson and Josh Phillipe will be some of the players to watch out for in the series. While Tanveer Sangha and Meredith can make an international debut in this series after being one of the top wicket-takers in the recently concluded Big Bash League. While, McDermott is also in a sublime form, and Matthew Wade would look to maintain the same consistency in the limited-overs. The trio of all-rounders, Maxwell- Stoinis-Marsh have been a proven performer in the shortest format. Captain Aaron Finch and Josh Phillipe will open for the team.
New Zealand: The Kiwis have been a flamboyant side in all the formats. The players like Tim Seifert and Devon Conway have added stability and consistency at the top-order. The form of Williamson and Chapman in the Super Smash would give added confidence to the squad. While Philipps who scored the fastest hundred for New Zealand in T20I this year can be the top-performer for the team. The all-rounders, Santner and Neesham have provided valuable contributions to the team in the lower middle-order. The trio of pace bowlers, Southee-Boult- Jamieson has been terrific in all the formats and would look to continue the dominance against the Australian batsmen.
