PSL moves out of Pakistan, remaining matches were to be played in UAE

PSL schedule: The remainder of the matches from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) are likely to be hosted in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The campaign was announced suspended in March this year after various cases of COVID-19 were being detected within the bio-bubble.

PSL start date June 1?

All matches were scheduled to be held in Karachi at the National Stadium. But all six of the PSL franchises have requested the PCB delegation to shift the event to the UAE, keeping in mind the rising cases in Pakistan. The PSL is now to resume on June 1 and should be completed by June 20. According to sources, the PCB officials are now just waiting for the confirmation from the Emirates Cricket Board.

This season’s PSL could only have 14 matches which lasted from February to March. However, it’s just a matter of time before the remaining fixtures will be completed in the UAE. It is also being said, that the players and the coaching staff will have to serve a seven-day quarantine period, starting May 22.  The foreign players are expected to travel directly to Abu Dhabi, while, the families and officials will not be allowed to be there.

Before suspension, it was the Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi who topped the charts with six points each. Whereas, Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars, also registered six points, but have played four games in the process.

Previous Winners of the PSL

The ongoing campaign is the 6th season of the PSL. Islamabad United were the champions in 2016, which was followed by Peshawar Zalmi winning it next season. Islam United, once again showed their resolve to win their second title, in the year 2018. Quetta Gladiators impressed in 2019 to lift the trophy, while, the Karachi Kings also got their hands on the title for the very first time in 2020.
