RR vs GT: Rajasthan Royals have one of the fragile fast bowling attacks when it comes to death bowling in the competition but they have excellent new ball bowlers and possibly one of the best spin duos in this edition of IPL, and they are massively benefitting from that aspects of the game and are making sure that they are pushing the team backwards in the middle over phase and the new ball phase from where the oppositions have no chance of coming back in.
Rajasthan Royals were one of the teams that had no availability issues right from the word go. They have all their overseas players intact except for Nathan Coulter Nile who is ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. He played the first 2 games of the season. RR, since then have went in with just 6 pure batsmen which hasn’t backfired so far mainly because of the kind of form Shimron Hetmyer is in at the moment. The southpaw from the West Indies has aced all the difficult situations so far. He is one of the reasons for RR being at the top of the table after first four games.
RR also could have won the game against RCB had their captain was smart enough to bowl the wrist spinner in Yuzvendra Chahal at Dinesh Karthik straight up instead of feeding him with filthy pacers. RR would need Sanju Samson to get some big scores and not waste his start which, he is doing right throughout the season so far.
Devdutt Padikkal replaced Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top in the previous game and looked awful as well. With only 6 batters in the playing 11, RR cannot afford to carry passengers in the batting department.
