South Africa ODI Squad: In a massive recent development, hosts South Africa have announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming three-match home ODI series against India. South Africa is scheduled to lock horns with India in as many as three ODI matches scheduled on 19, 21 and 23 January, 2022 respectively. The first two ODI matches will be played in Paarl while the final ODI game is scheduled to be held in Cape Town.
South Africa have handed a maiden ODI call-up to all-rounder Marco Jansen after his excellent performances in the domestic circuit across formats. However, the big news is that Proteas premier fast bowler Anrich Nortje has not yet recovered from his hip injury and will miss the three-match ODI series against India as well. The duo of Wayne Parnell and Zubayr Hamza have retained their spots in the national spots as they were also part of the home series against Netherlands. Temba Bavuma will captain the South Africa ODI team while left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj will be his deputy.
