A new era is about to begin in ODI cricket for India in SA vs IND ODI series, as BCCI has announced that it would hand the 50-over captaincy to Rohit Sharma. Rohit’s first assignment as the ODI captain will be three match series against South Africa.
India vs South Africa bilateral series will be broadcasted by the Star Sports Network for viewers in India. The commentary will be available in multiple languages like English and Hindi. The series has been pushed back by 10 days due to covid fears. As per IND vs SA schedule, The first test will commence from the Boxing Day at the Centurion, before we move onto Johannesburg for the second Test. Cape Town will host the final Test between the two nations.
As for the ODI series, Paarl will host the opening two ODIs on Jan 19 and 21, 2022. The last ODI will be played in Cape Town on Sunday, 23rd Jan which will also be the last match of the Indian Tour.
Both nations have announced only their Test squads so far. As for India, the likes of Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja will miss out due to injury.
