Mitchell Starc out of SL vs AUS: In a massive breaking news update, Australia’s premier pace bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out for the upcoming second T20I match against Sri Lanka. The visiting Australian team took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series after having registered a comprehensive 10-wicket victory in the opening encounter against Sri Lanka. The second Sri Lanka vs Australia T20I match is scheduled to take place on 8 June, 2022 at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Cricket Australia (CA) have announced that Mitchell Starc will not be available for selection in the second T20I match against Sri Lanka scheduled on Wednesday due to a bizarre finger injury. The Australian left-arm pacer slit the index finger of his bowling hand on his shoe spike during the first over of his spell in the opening T20I on Tuesday. Starc picked up excellent figures of 3 for 26 in his quota of four overs during Australia’s amazing 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the first T20I.
With Starc getting ruled out, Australia will have to make a forced change in their playing 11 for the today’s second T20I game against Sri Lanka at the same venue. One of Sean Abbott or Jhye Richardson will replace Mitchell Starc in the Australia playing 11.
Australia Playing 11 David Warner Aaron Finch (C) Mitchell Marsh Steve Smith Glenn Maxwell Marcus Stoinis Matthew Wade Ashton Agar Jhye Richardson/Sean Abbott Kane Richardson Josh Hazlewood
