Head suffered a hamstring injury while fielding during the fourth ODI in Colombo. It is learned that he has suffered a minor blow but his availability for the first Test against Sri Lanka next week is under doubt.
Australian skipper Aaron Finch confirmed about Head’s injury and remarked that the southpaw will miss the final ODI against Sri Lanka. He cited outfield placement as the reason behind his injury.
“It’s a bit more of a precaution, especially with where he fields. His fields in the outfield and the ground are quite heavy and he does a lot of Ks. I’m not sure what he’ll be like for the Tests but he’s definitely not available for tomorrow,” Aaron Finch said.
