The 2nd T20I between India and Sri Lanka which was scheduled to take place on 27th July has been postponed due to COVID case in the Indian camp. The covid pandemic has caused havoc in the entire world and has damaged the health infrastructure and livelihood of the people. The sporting action was also effected last year and IPL 2021 will now be played in UAE due to recurring cases in the country. One more disappointment has landed into the Indian Cricket where the player has been tested positive on a foreign country.
The Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya has been tested positive in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The teams will remain in isolation until all the players get tested and return negative. It has been said that the SL vs IND 2nd T20 has been postponed to Wednesday.
Here is the tweet posted by Journalist Vikrant Gupta:
The all-rounder was a part of the Indian team in the first 2 ODIs and played in the first T20I against Sri Lanka as well. It must be a testing time for all the players in both the teams and it will be a waiting game until the result arrives.
The Sri Lanka team have a very important match to play on rescheduled 2nd T20I. It may make or break the team’s confidence leading up to an important T20I series and World Cup. For the time being, they will be without their top players like Perera, Dickwella, Gunathilaka, and Mendis. The team needs to perform well as a whole unit like in the 3rd ODI to clinch a win.
On the other side, Indian team would look to win the 2nd T20I and gain confidence for the upcoming series/tournaments. Some of the players might get an opportunity in the senior national T20 team.
