The Sri Lanka team have not been consistent performers in the international circuit after the retirement of players like Jayawardene, Sangakkara, Dilshan, and Malinga. The team has not been able to contribute as a whole unit which has severely hampered the results of the match. In recent, their top players are not present due to the bio bubble breach and injury issues. The team lost the series against England and have now lost the ODI series as well.
The Sri Lanka team played well in the 2nd ODI, but had to face a loss due to the team’s inability to pick wickets of the Indian tailenders, Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The home team scored 275 runs on the board and gained upper hand when they picked early wickets of the top Indian batsmen.
The bowlers were terrific in the first 30 overs, but could not contain and take wickets to win it for the team. The Sri Lanka coach Mickey Arthur was seen sitting and having vivid reactions on the moments during the 2nd innings. But he was involved in an argument with captain Dasun Shanaka after the Sri Lanka team lost the game by the batting performances of Indian team even after the setbacks in the first 10 overs.

The home team, Sri Lanka lost the 2nd ODI and ultimately the ODI series as well. The team’s batting unit has performed well but the bowling unit need to sharpen their skills to win the matches.
Whereas the Indian team need to maintain the same tempo and form to perform a white-wash and march on to the T20I series. The management can give chances to the players like Padikkal and Samson in the 3rd ODI.
