India’s very own superstar southpaw Suresh Raina, has reportedly been blessed with a baby boy . This news has come as a pleasant surprise for cricket fans around the country amidst the grim atmosphere that the corona virus outbreak has created. This is Suresh Raina’s second child. Back in 2016, the middle-order batsman from Ghaziabad and his wife, Priyanka Chaudhary Raina, were blessed with a girl, Gracia Raina.

Majumdar bears good news

Although Raina has not himself confirmed the story, veteran cricket historian and prominent sports journalist Boria Majumdar broke the news via his Twitter handle earlier this morning. Majumdar congratulated the couple through a tweet on Monday.

“Many congrats @ImRaina on being father. Glad mum and baby are safe and healthy. Stay safe and stay blessed,” wrote Majumdar.

Raina eyes India comeback

The out-of-favor all-rounder, who last featured in an international game for India back in 2018 against England, has found it difficult even to get into the probables for the national side. His body has also not been on his side, a knee injury in August last year ruling him out for most of the domestic season. And with the growth of Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Manish pandey, it is highly unlikely that the left hander will be picked in the team any time soon

With the Indian Premier League postponed till the 15th of next month, the wait continues for Raina fans to see their beloved ‘Chinna Thala’ back in action after a year’s time. One of the three Indians to score a ton in all three versions of the game, Raina will be looking to prove to the selectors that he still has what it takes to excel at the highest level and still remains a force to reckon with when it comes to twenty-twenty cricket, whenever the IPL starts.
