For Western Australia, Nick Hobson and D’Arcy Short smashed the fifties. However, Harshal Patel broke the 100-run stand by dismissing Hobson for 64 runs in 41 deliveries. In reply, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant opened the Indian innings, while Rohit Sharma didn’t bat at all. Rahul played a vital knock of 74 runs in 55 deliveries with nine fours and a couple of sixes in his account. However, none of the Indian batters could sustain for long then. Apart from Rahul, Hardik Pandya scored 17 runs in nine balls.

For Western Australia XI, Matthew Kelly, Lance Morris, and Hamish McKenzie captured two wickets each. India couldn’t get off the mark and be defeated by Western Australia XI by 39 runs.

India to play two warm-up games ahead of the World Cup

Besides, India are set to play a couple of warm-up games against Australia and New Zealand. India will play against the current T20I champions on October 17 (Monday) in Brisbane. While, the New Zealand clash is scheduled on October 19, at the same venue.

Further, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian men will kickstart the T20 World Cup campaign on October 23, with a blockbuster derby against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
