The T20 World Cup 2022 is about to take place in a few days. Talking about the Indian Cricket Team, they have named their squad for the marquee tournament and are currently preparing bilateral series against South Africa in their build-up to the event.

Over the past few days, reports have hogged the headlines related to the injury of Jasprit Bumrah. The media reports suggested that the pacer will not be able to take part in the event due to a back injury.

Things got even more hyped when BCCI confirmed that Bumrah will not take part in the ongoing South Africa series as his back injury has ruled him out of the series.

However, in what has been the biggest positive, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that Bumrah has not been ruled out of the T20 World Cup and they will monitor him as the event is far away now.

“Jasprit Bumrah is still not ruled out of #T20WorldCup yet. The World Cup is still quite some time away. Let’s not jump the gun,” Ganguly reportedly said on RevSportz.

T20 World Cup 2022: India’s Schedule for the tournament 

Team India will kick-started their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on 23rd October at MCG. After that, they will cross swords with qualifier 1 team on 27th October in Sydney.

The Rohit Sharma-led side will then shift their bases to Perth, where they will face South Africa on 30th October. India will then lock horns against Bangladesh on 2nd November in Adelaide. They will then play their last league game against qualifier 2 on 6th November in Melbourne.

23rd October – India vs Pakistan, Melbourne
27th October – India vs TBA, Sydney
30th October – India vs South Africa – Perth 2nd November – India vs Bangladesh – Adelaide
6th November – India vs TBA – Melbourne
