The road safety series has begun in a grand manner with the Indian legends thrashing the West Indies legends by a sound 6 wicket margin. One of the most anticipated series just gave the fans what exactly was expected from it.
The champion cricketers showed their class all the way through with some of their trademark shots, mannerisms, gestures and what not. The fans were awestruck by seeing childhood heroes performing in front of them for one more time. The legends lived up to the expectation and gave their 100% on the field irrespective of their age.
India's one of the all time great opener Virender Sehwag showed why he is considered as the legend as he smashed a match winning 74 from 57 deliveries that included 11 boundaries with all the ingredients of virender Sehwag's swag in it.
Fans were thrilled to see the magical moment of Virender Sehwag hitting 4 of the first ball of the innings.
Earlier Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and elected to bowl first on an uncharacteristic Wankhede wicket that sported a dry look on it. The Indian bowlers except Zaheer Khan looked rusty as the West Indian openers Darren Ganga and Shivnaraine Chanderpaul piled up a good opening wicket partnership 40 runs for the first 5 overs until Zaheer Khan bowled the dangerous Darren Ganga for a well made 32 from 24 deliveries.
The wickets kept tumbling at the regular intervals but the veteran Shivanarine Chanderpaul stood firm at one end and helped the Windies to reach 150 runs in their 20 overs. Shivnaraine Chanderpaul top scored with 61 runs from 41 balls with 2 maximums in it.
The Indian legends chased the target inside 19 overs and started their campaign on a winning note.
