Former Australian chinaman bowler Brad Hogg has come up with his top 3 batsmen when it comes to batting in those all-important death overs in IPL cricket.

Hogg, who has been quite active on his social media handles ever since the quarantine, came up with this on his Vlog. He captioned the video on his twitter handle;

“Righty-o legends, last one for this series of the BEST IPL Batsmen. And we’re talking about the toughest period for batters – the death overs. Who have I picked as my top 3 IPL batsmen at the death? Who all miss out? Let’s find out this episode of #HoggsVlog.”

Here’s the post which he shared

His first pick was Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The veteran bowler said;

He times his run perfectly, he sums up the situation and gets his team over the line in tough situations. The way he does it, he works one into two’s and even turns two’s into three’s and puts pressure on opposition fielders and bowlers.

His next pick in this section was the Proteas great AB de Villiers who represents Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Hoggy said;

“He plays that ramp shot over short fine leg and then he plays the reverse ramp shot over the short thrid-men as well, and he stands up and paves the ball down the ground as well. He is creative, inventive and he is unpredictable.”

His third pick was a little bit of surprise for everyone’s liking as he picked Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma, who usually bats at the top-order. This is what he had to say about Rohit;

“He bats no three or four for Mumbai Indians and he is adaptable. His performance in the death-overs, a very good strike-rate, average of around about 25 as well. He clips the yorkers off his legs for six over square leg but he also gives himself a little bit of room and clips those yorkers over point for six as well”
