PAK Playing 11: Pakistan will start their West Indies tour with the first T20I against the hosts here at Kensington Oval, Barbados. The visitors will have a tough task in hand playing a strong West Indies side which will be confident from its last T20 series win over Australia. Pakistan are coming off a disappointing tour of England in which they lost both ODI and T20I series. They will be looking to gear up for the upcoming T20 World Cup by beating West Indies. Their head-to-head record over West Indies will give them confidence as they lead the hosts 11-3.

Team News

Pakistan have the same squad that they had in England.

  • Usman Qadir is likely to play as the pitch is expected to aid spinners.
  • Haris Rauf could replace Mohammad Hasnain from the last T20I against England.

Pakistan have a top heavy batting line-up. Babar Azam and Rizwan have been scoring the bulk of the runs but if they don’t score, a collapse is on the cards. Much will be expected from Mohammad Hafeez in the middle order as he is the most experienced player in the side. The bowlers will face a stiff competition against a powerful WI batting line-up. Shaheen Afridi will be crucial with the new ball. Usman Qadir can pose some problems for WI batters with his deceptive googlies.
