The Test series between England and India has become very interesting due to the fierce competition between both the teams. The England pacers have been pitch perfect with their line-lengths and have troubled the Indian batters. With Chris Woakes entry into the Playing 11, the home team are looking quite strong as compared to the visitors. The spinner Ashwin’s exclusion has also been questioned due to his fine track record in England.
The Indian batters have not looked comfortable against the England pacers and are playing quite cautiously to avoid giving away wickets easily. The captain Virat Kohli was looking quite confident in his whole stay at the crease, and scores boundaries at his will. His cover drives were a pleasure to watch, but the fans have to wait a little more for his 71st century. The captain Kohli was dismissed on well made 50 by Ollie Robinson.
The management’s surprising call of promoting Ravindra Jadeja didn’t work out and the all-rounder was dismissed on a score of 10 by Chris Woakes.
The struggles for Ajinkya Rahane has continued in the England tour and has given a good amount of pressure to the team’s lower order in the 4th Test. The team will rely on the contribution of Rishabh Pant who has looked short of confidence in the last 2 innings. But, he can be trusted to give contirbution in these crucial situations due to his track record in the Australia series earlier this year.
Alongside Pant, Shardul Thakur who is making a comeback after recovering from injury need to use his ability well to give the team a much needed boost in the 1st innings which will be beneficial for rest of the test match.
