RR vs CSK MPL Team: The Match 4 of the Indian Premier League 2020 will witness the Rajasthan Royals face-off against the Chennai Super Kings. This will be the first league match for the Rajasthan Royals team, and they would look to try the best possible combination for the Playing XI team. An England all-rounder Ben Stokes would be unavailable for the first half of the IPL season. Jos Buttler would be unavailable for the first game due to quarantine reasons. The team must be happy that Steve Smith is recovered from injury and available for the first game. The talented Sanju Samson, who has been a phenomenal performer in the IPL over the years will be a key player for the team.  The franchise would be highly reliant on him to turn the fortunes in their favour. Andrew Tye and Jofra Archer will lead the bowling attack for the team and will use their experience in the T20 games to help the team in pressure situations. There are quite a few additions to the squad, David Miller, Robin Uthappa, and Tom Curran. All these players would provide much-needed balance to the team. The players like Manan Vohra and Yashasvi Jaiswal can form a good opening pair of the team.

On the other side, enough has been said about the experienced CSK squad, and they proved their mettle against the Mumbai Indians in the 1st game of the season. With Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plessis, they look quite good batting side. With the presence of all-rounders like Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran, they can be quite strong in this department. The bowlers responded well and picked up crucial wickets in the pressure situations. It will be interesting to see which team comes over the top in the RR vs CSK MPL prediction.

Match Info

Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings, Match 4, IPL, 2020
Date- Tuesday, 22nd September 2020
Time- 7:30PM (IST), 6:00PM (Local Time)
Venue- Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah

Venue Stats– Here are last 5 IPL matches average scores of both innings at Sharjah Cricket Ground:

IPL Matches 1st Innings Average Score – 160 runs.
IPL Matches 2nd Innings Average Score – 146 runs.

Pitch Report Though the ground is a batting-friendly pitch, the teams that win the toss in T20 matches here prefer bowling first. This is considering the dew factor. As most of the T20 matches are evening-night matches, the dew falling and wide cracks on the pitch makes it difficult for the bowlers to control the ball in the second innings. The average first innings score here is around 165.

Team news

Rajasthan Royals are set to miss the services of some of their star players in the first match. Ben Stokes, who has not yet reached the UAE, will be unavailable for this match. Jos Buttler, who has reached, won’t be able to play the first game, as he has been put under 6-day quarantine because he has travelled with his family.

Chennai Super Kings suffered a big blow when Suresh Raina flew back to India, but in the first game, the middle order looked balanced and efficient as Rayudu and Faf batted really well.

Expected Change– No changes from CSK are expected in this match.
Miller would be a part of RR XI, as the middle order needs to be strengthened in the absence of their star players.

Risky Pick David Miller has not been in a good form, in recent years, he’ll be a risky pick but can be worth it.

RR vs CSK MPL Fantasy Cricket Tips

CSK will win this match. I would have predicted RR as the winner here if Stokes and Buttler were going to play this match. Even Smith’s inclusion in the XI is not fully sure, he might not be fully recovered from the injury but is available for the game. On the other hand, CSK looked strong in all the departments except the opening duo, who failed to perform and will have a pressure on themselves to get runs on the board quickly and firmly. MSD’s idea to promote Jadeja and in-form Sam Curran ahead of him was not taken happily until he hit some boundaries, which eventually got CSK the win against Mumbai Indians. It will be a CSK’s game to win if they don’t flop, or RR don’t be too extraordinary with their performance.

Captain Choices

A Rayudu- The 34-year-old right-handed batsman is very crucial to CSK’s triumph this year. Raina is headed out for his reasons, Ambati will have the burden of the middle order to get out runs smoothly and in flow. He scored the match-winning knock of 71 in the last game v MI. In 148 games he has played in the IPL, he has scored 3371 runs with one century! It would be an excellent choice to make him a vice-captain, as he has a role to play in the team, and will definitely put up a decent score on the board.

S Samson- The Champion player from Rajasthan, who has been so constant in his performance from so many years. The wicket-keeper batsman has scored 2209 runs in 93 games he has played in the IPL. Sanju has been a dependable batsman in the IPL in recent years. He’ll have a burden of scoring valuable and crucial runs for the team in absence of the overseas players. He is the best captain choice for the RR vs CSK today match prediction.

Vice-Captain Choices

R Uthappa- He was released by Kolkata Knight Riders last year after a few very poor performance. He has played 21 matches against CSK & has scored 538 runs at an average of 31.65. In IPL overall, he has scored 4411 runs, which is amazing. He has tons of experience and will be hoped to give a firing start for RR while batting at the top.

F Plessis: Faf was excellent in the last game, he earned the most points in the fantasy game. With his 3 amazing catches and a quickfire 58 off 44, he’ll be the perfect choice of captain, preferably vice-captain. It is a tough choice to pick between Watson and Faf, but i’ll go with Faf. He has scored 1907 runs in 72 matches in IPL.

X-factors

Jaydev Unadkat- A player who has been quite terrific in the IPL over the years. He is coming into the 2020 season after he led his domestic side, Saurashtra to win their maiden Ranji Trophy title. He has picked up 77 wickets in the IPL till now and would like to continue his good form for helping the Rajasthan team to win the trophy this time. Along with Jofra Archer, he forms a core part of the bowling department of the RR team. He can be the X- factor of the team in the death overs with his death bowling skills and experience.

Sam Curran- With a brilliant performance with both bat and ball in the last game, he would surely be upbeat ahead of this crucial game. The captain promoted him up the order to attack the left-arm spinner and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands and helped the team to win the game easily. Also, he is coming after a good performance against the recently concluded series against Australia. In the IPL 2019, he picked 10 wickets including a hat-trick for the Kings XI Punjab.
