The IPL 2021 is set to resume from September 19 in United Arab Emirates. All eyes will be on the Indian players on how they perform in the Indian Premier league and get a proper game time ahead of the T20 World Cup. The covid concerns in India in May forced to postpone the tournament and it was an intelligent decision to keep Phase 2 of the IPL 2021 out of India due to the persistent cases in the country. But, here is a news regarding the fans in the Indian Premier League 2021 Phase 2.
The IPL governing council and BCCI has made an important decision regarding the IPL 2021. The major update has come from the committees, where it is decided that the fans will be allowed to watch the IPL 2021 Phase 2 matches at the stadium in United Arab Emirates.
Here is a confirmation by the IPL official twitter account:
The UAE has very less active covid cases, and most of the people have been vaccinated, which is why the decision is taken to allow the crowd to watch the action live at the stadium. The tickets will go live from September 16 on the official website of IPL. The matches will be played on three different venues, namely Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi which hosted the games of IPL 2020 as well.
It has been said that three players, Chris Jordan, Sam Billings, and George Garton will not be available for their side’s first fixture in the IPL 2021 Phase 2.
The reason for their delayed arrival is due to the T20 Blast Playoffs scheduled to be played in 2-3 days time and these players have kept domestic tournament as their top-priority.
