Indian Super League

FCG vs NEUFC  Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

In the upcoming fixture of the Indian Super League we have NorthEast United locking horns with FC Goa in their opening match of the tournament. It had been a run of terrible luck for the past four years as they remained the only team to have not reached the play-offs so far in any edition of the ISL. Last time out, they could only secure 11 points of 18 matches they have played in the season and were very vulnerable in the back. Now that they are under their new coach Eelco Schattorie from mid-season last year, they would be looking to turn things around for better. They have got a few notable signings which should help them to get the desired results they are looking for in this time out. They have got the Croatian defending pair of Mato Grigic and Mislav Komoroski in their ranks and would hope that they show them some world class defending. In the midfield segment, the acquisition of Bartholomew Ogbeche from Nigeria would enhance their dominance in the center but they had not a great pre season this time out. They didn’t even play a few matches so match fitness could be a serious concern in this game.

FC Goa, on the other hand, will once again show attacking game play through out the season. Last time out, they scored 42 goals in the whole season. Their Spanish coach Sergio Lobera enjoys dominating the game but the absence of several key players from the team would surely take some time to fit together on the ground. Last season’s leading goal scorer Manuel Lanzarote has also Departed the club to join ATK. They have also lost Pronay Halder and Narayan Das so how their replacement would do remains to see in this game.

Updates:
North East United: The Highlanders won one and drew the away game against FC Goa last season. North East’s head coach Eelco Schattories told the media that those two results were based on certain weaknesses they spotted in the Goa’s team and has reiterated his desire to continue that streak against the Gaurs this season.

Team: One of the biggest issues concerning the Indian Super League (ISL) is the contract of the players. Unlike the European Leagues and some other established league’s like Major League Soccer (MLS) and K-League, the clubs in India normally offers the player a one -year contract and more often than not, the teams are relatively new at the beginning of every season, and that’s what happened with the Highlanders this season. The John Abraham backed team has either released or sold at least 19 players from their 2017-18 roster, and have retained the services of only 6 players from last season, namely, Rehenesh TP, Rowllin Borges, Reagan Singh, Robert Lalthlamuana, Lalthathanga Khawlring, and Lalrempuia Fanai. But they have bought well for this season, bringing in former PSG striker Bartholomew Ogbeche, while Croatian duo of Mato Grgic and Mislav Komorski have been added to marshal the defense.

Preparation: NorthEast United had to cancel their pre-season tour to Sweden for some undisclosed reasons, and the preparations have taken place only in India.

FC Goa: The two-time semifinalists have managed to retain the core of the team and have more or less a well-settled team.
Team: The Gaurs have sold just 4 of their key players from their roster of last season with Manuel Lanzarote being the only major absentee from their squad. Goa responded well after the departure of Lanzarote as they managed to secure the signature of India’s star forward Jackichand Singh and Spain’s Miguel Palanca. Lalthuammawia Ralte has also been added in the goalkeeping department.

FCG vs NEUFC  Dream11 FANTASY TEAM:

For team 1, we have opted for NEUFC goalie because FC Goa enjoys attacking football so there would be a lot of activities in Rehenesh’s box meaning more points. And also the fact that as it’s NEUFC’s home match it can be expected that he should clearly rise to the occasion. Chhetri and Ali have proved themselves for the national team and we are backing them to perform in this game as well. Borges on the left flank for NEUFC have shown great attacking before so we got him on our team. Corominas is the captain because he was the leading goal scorer in the last season and we are expecting him to win the most goals award thut time out as well. Ogbeche is vice captain because he will be making his debut and it has been rumoured that he is very fast on the ground.

The only two changes on this team is the addition of the goal keeper Kattimani at the expense of Rehenesh because Kattimani is the better goal keeper technically and FC Goa is most likely to win this game so whatever attack comes he can save them. The second change is we got Gallego at Colaco’s expense.

INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:

We are backing the away team to won this game because not only they are the stronger team on paper but also got the potential and the talent to beat the hosts in this game. Moreover, last season lost to the Highlanders so it remains a pay back time for the guests.
