Kolkata Knight Riders appoint Heath Streak as bowling coach

Kolkata Knight Riders has roped in former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak as their bowling coach.

Streak has mentored Bangladesh in the past and is currently the head of Zimbabwe cricket team. He has replaced Lakshmipathy Balaji to join hands with head coach Jacques Kallis and assistant coach Simmon Katich.

Laksmipathy Balaji has joined the team of Chennai Super Kings taking over as their bowling coach this season.

Heath Steak is the latest addition to the team of KKR. Earlier they handed over the captaincy to Dinesh Karthik after Gautam Gambhir ended his seven-year-long association with the franchise and moved to Delhi Daredevils.

So, this year Dinesh Karthik would be donning the captaincy hat for KKR in the eleventh edition of IPL. Incidentally, Streak and Karthik have worked together for the last two years where the former mentored the now defunct team of Gujarat Lions.

The 11th edition of the IPL is scheduled to kick start from 7th April where the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians would clash in the first fixture of the tournament.
