Kolkata Knight Riders began their first practice session at the Jadavpur University second campus ground in Salt Lake in Kolkata without their skipper Dinesh Karthik and coach Jacques Kallis. Dinesh Karthik, who played a sensational 28 not out from eight balls in India's last-ball win over Bangladesh in the T20 Tri-series final on Sunday has significantly boosted up the confidence of Kolkata franchise who have overhauled the squad for the eleventh season. KKR opted to begin their practice session with light warm-up sessions and Karthik is expected to join the team with the coach later this month. There was no net session on Monday as the KKR boys decided to start their pre-season training with light warm-up sessions. Vice-captain Robin Uthappa practices with his team.
