CHI vs MIN Dream11: The WNBA is moving into the halfway territory and we have already learned the names of the starters. Regulars like Breanna Stewart, A’ja Wilson, and Nneka Ogwumike have been slated to be in the All-Star Game but the reserves are yet to be announced if we wait for the reserve to be announced. Candace Parker has been also named as an All-Star starter and in this game, her Chicago Sky will take on the Minnesota Lynx.
The Sky has done a wonderful job to begin the season with 12 wins and five losses and has won eight out of their last ten games. In their last match-up, the Sky defeated the Sparks 82:59 as Candace Parker nabbed a 14-rebounds triple-double. On the other hand, the Lynx has won five out of their 18 games, beginning the season on a rather low note. However, contrary to their current season, they won two in a row versus the Mercury. They put on an offensive show in the last game against the Mercury, winning 100:88 as Moriah Jefferson scooped up 21 points. Can the Lynx surprise the Sky?
Host: Chicago Sky
Visitors: Minnesota Lynx
Match Timing: 27 June, @ 03:30 AM (+05:30 UTC)
Venue: Wintrust Arena
Sky is infused with energy
The Sky’s depth looks unmatched at this point. This is a squad full of all-around players that can deal quite a bit of damage in multiple aspects. They are tight-knit on the defensive, knowing when to hedge, when to close out, and when to switch. While on the offensive end, they are blessed with a bunch of awesome passers, probably more than any other team except for the Storm and the Aces.
Messeman, Parker, and Vandersloot are all brilliant all-around presences whereas Kahleah Copper is an isolation threat, Quigley a sharp-shooter in the main five. Rebekah Gardner is one of the most electric players to watch out there whereas Azure Stevens gives further depth to the Forward position.
Lynx’s miserable season but Fowles’ return bolsters squad
The Lynx has been one of the worst offensive teams in the league getting Fowles back surely helps bolsters the screen action, inside scoring, rebounding, and the overall complexion. This is why the Lynx were able to get to 100 points in the last game and this can be a promising sign. However, overall, the depth of the Lynx has been questionable in the absence of Napheesa Collier as she was able to keep the team afloat on both ends.
