SAS vs GSW Dream11: Hey NBA fans, how has it been these days! The NBA keeps throwing a volley of games daily and I do what I can do to bring the picture of some of these games. Of course, these are all brief pictures, and well since I relate them to the NBA fantasy pictures, it is overloaded with the Players’ descriptions. Still, doesn’t it give you an idea of how these athletes have been doing in the demanding world of the NBA? Anyway, I don’t know why you, the reader is here, but let us jump into this game.

Here, the San Antonio Spurs will host the Golden State Warriors. The Spurs have been struggling this season, having 13 more losses than wins and still way out of the Play-in picture. They had a turbulent month of January and their struggles can be related to the fact that they are young, lack the defensive grit, and are well in the rebuilding mode.

On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors are the opposite of the Spurs on average. They have been inching towards 40 wins and they have the second-best record in the league. Despite missing Draymond Green, the team has figured out winning combinations, and well, when you have a superstar PG like Curry and a coach like Kerr with a unit that can pull through, is it a surprise?

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Warriors: Not surprised by their current returns
The Warriors are a genius unit because even if they are cold from the field, they can figure out ways to eke out win games. Surely, when they were losing around 60-70% of their games when Green went out, there were concerns but hey, their depth has been incredible since the beginning of the season. This team has been out on a mission this season and it seems like anything below a Western Conference Finals appearance may be considered a little disappointing. Personally, I don’t see it like this, for me, the Regular Season and the Playoffs are two separate realms, and well, I will discuss that some other day.

Curry has been cold during most games but a 40 points outing against the Rockets brings great signs. I don’t care even when the guard is cold, he will attract many defenders at the perimeter and well, why do we only focus upon shooting? The guard has been much more than that for some seasons now. Wiggins has been on fire and he is surely one of the best two-way wings. Thompson and Poole are two high-yielding guards while Kevon Looney’s rebounding has been on another level. With Otto Porter Jr.(missed the last game), Gary Payton, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Kuminga, and various other bench players, the Warriors are tight-knit and coming for a deep Playoff run.

Spurs: Young but blooming
Hey, I know the current Spurs record doesn’t excite many people but what do you expect from a team in the rebuild mode. See, the Spurs have a solid base and they can be a big-time team down the road. If anything many of their players can help many other teams and the management can utilize their talent to bring in top-notch players. The Spurs have done well this season whether you believe me or not. They have a ton of offensive talent and at one point, they were “overachieving”. With Gregg Popovich at the helm, the team can launch an effective offense night in and night out.

How effective? The team leads all the 30 squads in assists per game. With DeJounte Murray has been superb with his triple-double ways, being the most reliable scorer, rebounder, and steal clincher. Derrick White is more than a dependable second playmaker. Keldon Johnson and Doug McDermott are two wings that can shoot at a high clip from the perimeter. Jakob Poeltl is having his best season, leading the team in rebounds and blocks. Meanwhile, off-the-bench shot creators Walker IV and Vassell have some things to improve but provide a decent supply of offense. Overall, the Spurs have played some electric offense throughout the season.

NBA Scores, Fantasy Basketball Top Picks

DeJounte Murray(SAS) missed the last game but he is highly likely to play here. Murray has been impressive, scoring 20+ points, grabbing 7+ rebounds, and dishing 8+ assists on a regular basis while clinching 1+ steals on a regular basis. Murray can be selected as a Star/Pro Player in the Dream 11 NBA Fantasy scenario.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 49-61
DeJounte Murray SAS vs GSW Dream11

Stephen Curry(GSW)
Points: 40
Rebounds: 05
Assists: 09
Blocks: 01
Steals: 01
I never worry about Curry’s shooting slump and he can heat up any time and he is more than a scorer anyway! I expect 22-25 points range from Curry here but don’t be surprised if the Guard is in one of those streaks. He has also pulled 4+ rebounds and dishes 6-9 assists a game regularly
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 40-60

Jakob Poeltl(SAS) missed the last game but he is likely to play here. The Center has been in the 10+ points, 8+ rebounds, and 1+ block range throughout the season.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 27-37

Andrew Wiggins(GSW)
Points: 23
Rebounds: 05
Assists: 03
Steals: 02
Blocks: 02

Wiggins at the wing position makes the Warriors a better unit night in and night out. The Forward has been playing at a high clip, scoring 17-23 points and pulling down 4 or more rebounds on a regular basis.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 35-45

Keldon Johnson(SAS)
Points: 16
Rebounds: 08
Assists: 04
Keldon has been more than a decent scorer, shooting at a high percentage from the three-point line and pulling down decent boards. The Forward has figured in the 16-18 points range while grabbing 4 or more rebounds a game regularly.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 25-32

Kevon Looney(GSW)
Points: 07
Rebounds: 14
Assists: 01
Blocks: 01
Steals: 01
Kevon has picked up his rebounding ever since Green has been out. Looney has been scoring around 6 points and grabbing 8 or more rebounds a game regularly these days.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 22-30

SAS vs GSW DREAM11 LINEUP BALANCERS

  • Derrick White(SAS) missed the last game but he has been in the 10-16 points and 4-8 assists range throughout the season.
  • Jordan Poole(GSW) had 6 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds in the last game. I feel Poole will explode in this game with a 18+ points night here if he gets around 26 minutes or so.
  • Klay Thompson(GSW) had 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block in the last game. Klay has been figuring in the 14-21 points range ever since he has been back.
  • Doug McDermott(SAS) had 24 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal in the last game. He did score 24 in the last game but with the main guns back, I expect a 11-15 points range from the wing.
  • Gary Payton II(GSW) had 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals in the last game. Despite reduced minutes, I believe Gary can get in the 6-8 points and 2-5 rebounds range at least.
  • Jonathan Kuminga(GSW) had 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal in the last contest. Can Kuminga get more minutes here? He has been a tad inconsistent.
  • Juan Toscano-Anderson(GSW) had 10 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound, 2 steals, 1 block in the last contest. The wing can be expected to score in the 4-10 range here.
  • Lonnie Walker IV(SAS) had 22 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals in the last game. I expect a 10-14 points range from the guard with White and Murray back.
  • Devin Vassell(SAS) had 7 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists in the last game. Devin has usually been in the 10-14 points and 3-5 rebounds range mostly.
  • Tre Jones, Joshua Primo(SAS) had 15 points and 13 points respectively in the last game. I think they will score below 10 here with the key rotation players back.
  • Moses Moody(GSW) had 11 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist in the last game. I doubt he will replicate these numbers again but who knows!
