Chamika Karunaratne is a fast bowling all rounder who plays for Sri Lanka international cricket team.
Chamika Karunaratne made his domestic debut in a List A fixture in 2015, and then gradually featured in other two formats as well. His international debut came against India in an ODI fixture in May 2021, and has played in the T20I and Test format as well. In February 2022, Chamika was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders team in IPL 2022 Auction.
Born on May 29 1996 at Colombo, his father was a former badminton player, while his three brothers currently are professional badminton players. The eldest brother Niluka Karunaratne is the no. 1 badminton player of Sri Lanka and has featured in Olympics 2012, 2016, and 2020. Chamika himself has been a professional badminton player and was a junior level national champion in Javelin Throw.

Since 2015, Chamika has featured in 39 First Class matches, and has amassed 1314 runs and scalped 73 wickets. In 68 List A matches, he has managed to be efficient with 884 runs and 80 dismissals. In T20s, he has been average with 34 wickets and 432 runs in 55 appearances. In international circuit, he has done well in ODI format, with 269 runs and 11 wickets in 13 matches. Chamika was impressive in his debut ODI series, where he accumulated 90 runs in 3 innings. In 18 T20Is, he has only dismissals and 110 runs to his name.
After years of hardwork and good performances, Chamika Karunaratne has made a mark in international cricket. Due to his performances in limited overs, he earned the contract from Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League Auction for a bid amount of 50 Lakhs.
