Janith Liyanage made his domestic debut in a List A fixture for his team Ragame in 2014. Then in a matter of few months, he featured in other 2 formats as well. In his first class debut, he was impressive to score a hard fought 64.

Janith was player of the tournament in Major Club Limited Overs tournament and impressive performance in Lanka Premier League. He was named in the Sri Lanka ODI squad for Zimbabwe tour in 2021/22, but missed out due to testing covid positive. In the Sri Lanka tour to Australia, he was handed an opportunity to feature in his first T20I. He spends 4-5 hours in nets and hopes to improve his skills as an all rounder.
