Kamil Mishara is an opening batsman who plays for Sri Lanka. Born on 21 April 2001, the southpaw made his First Class debut for Pandura Sports Club in Premier League Tournament Tier B 2016-17. He then debuted in the T20s during the SLC Twenty-20 Tournament 2018-19, which was followed by a wait of a few seasons before he could march into the List A cricket in the Major Clubs Limited Overs Tournament 2020-21. Kamil was also a part of the Sri Lanka U-19 squad for ICC U-19 World Cup 2020.
Though he possesses a stellar record in the domestic one-dayers, Kamil hasn’t yet debuted in ODIs. He was named in Sri Lanka’s Test squad against West Indies 2021-22. He made his T20I debut against Australia on 20 February 2022 in Melbourne – a match that Sri Lanka won by 5 wickets.
Known for being a prolific run-getter with an astute technique, Kamil had a decent debut in First Class, as he scored a 36 against the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Club. His most recent heroics during the Pakistan Shaheens tour of Sri Lanka 2021-22 put him on a pedestal, where he scored 217 runs in 2 matches at an average of 54.25 and a high score of 98 in each of the Unofficial Tests. Kamil’s maiden run in List A cricket – which happened during the Major Clubs Limited Overs Tournament 2020-21 – stamped his authority in the Sri Lankan domestic one-dayers, as he finished second in the list of leading run-getters in the tournament, with 437 runs in 8 matches at a mind-boggling average of 72.83 and a strike rate of 81.83. Though he hasn’t had much success in T20s, he’s still learning and evolving and the numbers are bound to get better as time progresses.
A burgeoning potential from Sri Lanka, Kamil is yet to get any offer from IPL franchises. But, if he continues his carnage in both limited-overs and First Class, then the doors might open early for the Sri Lankan cricketer.
He’s quite young and there isn’t any post on his social media handles or any information regarding his love affairs.
