Parthiv Patel is the youngest ever wicket-keeper to keep wickets in Test Cricket. He was 17 when he donned the wicket keeping gloves for India against England in the year 2002 at Trent-Bridge. He started playing for Gujarat in the first-class level and under his leadership Gujarat lifted the Ranji trophy for the first time in the 2016-2017 edition. Till date, Parthiv Patel has represented 7 different teams in the IPL which is the most by any player in the span of 11 years of the tournament. He has represented India in 25 Tests, 38 ODI’s and 2 T20 Internationals and has scored 934, 736 and 36 across formats. He considered Adam Gilchrist as his role model.

He has represented 6 teams in Indian Premier League (IPL) which are, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Deccan Chargers Hyderabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Mumbai Indians.
During 2004 Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, he sledged Steve Waugh who was batting at the crease by saying, ” Come on Steve, just one more of your popular slog-sweeps before you quit.” to which Steve replied, “Show some respect. You were in your nappies when I debuted 18 years ago.”
Avni Zaveri is the wife of Parthiv Patel. She is interior designer by profession. The duo tied the knot on 9 March 2008.
