Rohit Kumar was born on January 19, 1990 in Panipat district of Haryana. With his impressive performances in the district and state level tournaments, he was selected to play for Indian team in 2016 South Asian Games. The performances in the tournament earned him a place in Patna Pirates squad. of Season 3, and helped the team to secure their first title victory. His cousin Manjeet Chillar has also been one of the legendary players in the Indian Kabaddi history as well.

Rohit Kumar was married to late Lalita Dabas, who committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in 2016, and alleged about the dowry harassment by Rohit Kumar’s family. Then he married for the second time in February 2020.

Rohit has been a fine performer in Pro Kabaddi League. In 93 appearances in the league, he has managed to secure 38% success rate in raids. In total, Rohit Kumar has earned 791 raid points, including 15 Super Raids and has registered 26 Super 10s as well. His leadership skills were a fine support to the Bengaluru Bulls team with a victory in 2018.
After being released from the Bengaluru Bulls, the raider Rohit Kumar was bought by the Telugu Titans franchise in Pro Kabaddi 2021 Auction for an amount of 36 Lakhs, and was chosen as the captain.
The raider featured for the first time in 2016 for the Patna Pirates and straight away made impact by being the most valuable player by scoring 102 raid points and helping the team to clinch the title.
