“The desire is there from my side to play for South Africa” Ab de Villiers

Fondly renowned as the ‘Superman’ of cricket, Ab de Villiers last played for the national side almost 2 years back. There have been many speculations over his returns and he has been quite vocal on this.

“The desire is there from my side to play for South Africa and have been asked by Cricket South Africa to lead the Proteas again,”

“The most important thing to me is that I have got to be in top form and I have got to be better than the player next to me. If I feel I deserve my spot in the side, it becomes much easier for me to feel that I should be part of the playing XI,”

He has emphasized on being at the top of his game if he makes a return to international cricket. He has been playing various T20 Leagues across the globe with IPL being right at the top of his radar.

Proteas coach Mark Boucher wants to consider de Villiers for the T20 World Cup

Ab de Villiers’s former teammate and the current head coach of South Africa Mark Boucher has expressed his desire to have the star batsman on board for the T20 World Cup. However, the latter also emphasized on the fact that the current form does matter the most for the national selection.
