Marcus Stoinis Available for DC vs CSK Qualifier 1? Rishabh Pant gives an update

The business end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is finally here. The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals will take on Ms Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1 of the tournament at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium today (10th October). The winner will progress straight to the final while the losing side will have one more shot at the trophy in Qualifier 2. It remains to be seen if Rishabh Pant can take his team to the final or will the experience of MS Dhoni will have better of him.

Marcus Stoinis fit to play Qualifier 1 vs CSK 

Delhi Capitals suffered a major blow during the second phase of the IPL 2021 in UAE as premier all-rounder Marcus Stoinis suffered a tweak in his hamstring and then missed the rest of the matches of the marquee tournament.

In his absence, the Rishabh Pant-led side gave chance to Steve Smith, Lalit Yadav and Ripal Patel. Though the trio played their part but none of them provided the same balance as the Marcus Stoinis. With Qualifier 1, a few hours away the availability of the Australian all-rounder for the clash has left everyone in doubts.

Addressing the press conference ahead of the clash, Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant explained that Ripal Patel got the chance as an experiment because Stoinis was out with injury and his team had already qualified. He expressed hope that the Australian all-rounder will be fit enough to return to the XI for the first Qualifier.

“Ripal is a promising youngster, and we were already qualified so we thought we gonna try someone because Stoinis was injured. Hopefully, he will be in for the next game, so we thought we gonna give Ripal chance and see how it goes,” Rishabh Pant said.

Probable Delhi Capitals Playing XI for the Qualifier 

The returning of Marcus Stoinis back to the playing XI will be a massive boost for Delhi Capitals. They, however, will play the full strength side and are expected to play their A-game.
