Pakistan are set to lock horns with Sri Lanka in UAE as the Asian champion will be decided tonight (September 11). The game will be played at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai at 7:30 PM (IST), under the lights.
Babar Azam-led Pakistan men will be searching their third title while Sri Lanka will fight for their sixth, in the history of the tournament. Pakistan won their last title in 2012 under the leadership of former cricketer Misbah-ul-Haq. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, attained a breakthrough in 2014 with Angelo Mathews leading the way.
Azam and co. have lost two games in the tournament until now. Apart from an earlier loss versus India, they recently lost against Sri Lanka, in their last game of the Super 4 stage.
Sri Lanka have endured a defeat only once in the Asia Cup 2022 so far, which was against Afghanistan. In the Super 4 stage, the Dasun Shanaka-led men were simply ruthless as they defeated India, and Pakistan respectively. Overall, Lankan men will play to script history in the crises.
