BREAKING: Massive update on Asia Cup 2020

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting to discuss about the future of the Asia Cup 2020  has been postponed due to the worrying rise of the coronavirus pandemic.

Uncertainty over the tournament 

The mega event was originally scheduled for September but with the current day scenario it’s difficult to predict its fate.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) had to cancel their meeting which was supposed to take place earlier this month due to the outbreak.

The meeting was very much on once former Indian captain and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Sourav Ganguly stated that India will be ready to face Pakistan provided it takes place in a neutral venue. As per reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was also considering the option.

PCB‘s stance is that with international cricket slowly returning to Pakistan could benefit from hosting few games of the Asia Cup at home,” a source was quoted saying.

Coronavirus pandemic puts Asia Cup in jeopary

To make matters complicated, most tournaments and series’ have also been postponed as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Which just signifies that the Asia Cup 2020 could also follow the same route to the extent of being pushed further back to even next year.

The previous edition of the Asia Cup took place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Ultimately, it was Team India who ended up lifting the trophy by beating Bangladesh in the finals.
