The biggest party in cricket, Carribean Premier League has started and all the star players  of West Indies are featuring in the league. The Universe boss, Chris Gayle returned to play for Guyana after a gap of 1 year. The Champion, Dwayne Bravo has switched his team from Knight Riders to St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The international players like Sikandar Raza, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Ben Dunk, and Tim Seifert are making debut in the Carribean Premier League.

The junior Bravo showed his fielding skills in the Match 1 of the CPL 2021. It was a match between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors, with Pollard and Pooran as its respective captains.

In the 18th over of the Guyana’s innings, Ravi Rampaul tried to bowl a wide yorker to Nicholas Pooran. But instead, the batter made it into a full toss and played a lofted shot on the long-off position, but could not connect the ball quite well and was in the range of the fielder, Darren Bravo. The junior Bravo was impressive to jump at right point of time and after catching, also threw the ball immediately when he felt he may cross the boundary line, signifying a fine presence of mind. This evaded the Guyana Amazon Warriors to finish the innings well.

Warriors and Patriots Start the season with a win

The Guyana Amazon Warriors won their first league match by 9 runs against Trinbago Knight Riders. The Warriors posted 142 runs on the board, with the half century from Shimron Hetmyer. In the bowling unit, Shepherd scalped 3, while Tahir and Odean picked 2 wickets each.

The Patriots started their season with a win against Barbados Royals. by 21 runs. They posted a total of 175 runs, with the contributions of 53 and 47 from Rutherford and Dwayne Bravo respectively. In the bowling unit, Cotterell and Brakes scalped 2 wickets each.
