Ravindra Jadeja Cricket India vs West Indies: In a big news development, India’s premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is not playing the third T20I encounter against West Indies at the Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts. Unlike the ODI series, West Indies came in with a big surprising performance to beat India by 5 wickets in the WI vs IND 2022 2nd T20I match played at the same venue on Monday. The five-match T20I series between West Indies and India now stands levelled at 1-1.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, India captain Rohit Sharma revealed that they have rested spin bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for this third T20I against West Indies. Jadeja was part of the India side during the first two T20I matches against West Indies where he scored a total of 43 runs and also picked up a couple of wickets. Incidentally, the left-arm spinner was not available for the three-match ODI series in the Caribbean due to a knee injury.

“We will field first, not because of the conditions, but this is what we wanted to do as a team. We want to capitalize on the powerplay, this is a small ground, a six hitting ground, but the average score isn’t high so we need to keep that in mind as well. The guys have been given the chance to express themselves, so the high-risk shots come into play, but we do understand that. I don’t know about that (if India has a weakness against left-arm pace). As a team we want to improve in all aspects of the game, but in the last few series, the left-arm seamers have done well against us. I don’t see that as a concern. It’s not that the guys are struggling, it happens when you’re trying to score quickly. But we do need to understand when we come up against certain bowlers, we just want to come out and express ourselves, that’s what we want to continue doing. Just one change, Jadeja has been rested, Hooda is in,” said India skipper Rohit Sharma.
Team India have made just a single change to their playing 11 for this 3rd T20I game against West Indies on back-to-back days. In the absence of Jadeja, Deepak Hooda has been included in the team.
